College student discounts are everywhere — that is, if you know where to look for them. Many businesses require only a valid ID to get some great deals on delicious meals, sports and entertainment tickets, or the latest technology. So keep in mind that a quality education is just one of the perks of enrolling in college. Check out these categories and start saving money TODAY!

 

 

Technology 

If you plan to invest in any kind of hardware or software, explore these discounts before making a big purchase.

•          Apple — Shop the “Education Store” online for student pricing on some of the brand’s most popular items. 

•          Best Buy — Browse the “Student School Hub” online for storewide deals. 

•          Adobe — Get the entire Adobe suite for $19.99 per month! This discount is over 60 percent off the original price, and includes a free trial.  

•          Lenovo, HP, Logitech — Looking for a computer? These brands have online discounts to help reduce the cost. 

 

Streaming/ Online Subscriptions

Most streaming services offer discounts, but some are more affordable than others. The best value package is the student Spotify Premium subscription at $5.99 per month, which includes Hulu. Amazon Prime offers a 50 percent discount for students at $7.49 a month, while scholars can get a year of Peacock and Hulu for just $1.99 a month. YouTube Premium for students is $7.99 per month, which is $6 off the normal price.

 

 

Entertainment/Sports

•          For movie lovers, both Cinemark and AMC Theaters offer college student discounts at participating locations.

•          The National Hockey League has discounted prices through its “Student Rush” program. Visit your favorite team’s website to sign up.

•          Major League Baseball teams also offer lower prices. For example, the Boston Red Sox and Milwaukee Brewers have tickets starting at $9. Meanwhile, the Washington Nationals have a 30 percent discount and the Pittsburgh Pirates offer a 40 percent markdown on entry.

 

Museums

If you’re planning a sight-seeing trip, you might be able to do it on the cheap. Here are some cities with museum offers:

 

New York

The normal cost for each of these museums is $30 per person, but students can enter at a reduced rate. 

•          $19 – The Guggenheim

•          $17 – The Metropolitan Museum of Art 

•          $15 – The Museum of Modern Art (online ticket purchase)

 

Chicago 

According to Tripadvisor, Chicago’s top attraction is the Chicago Institute of Art. See it at a reduced price of $26 per student. 

 

Boston

Students can experience the incredible Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and save $7. Tickets are $13 with a valid ID. 

Students also receive $2 off a ticket to the New England Aquarium when booked online. 

 

 

 

Philadelphia

The Penn Museum has a reduced price of $13 a student. Even better, students who visit from 3-5pm each Tuesday through Friday get in free by showing your ID.

Interested in anatomical oddities? The Mütter Museum offers a $5 student discount with ID. 

 

Los Angeles

Get $4 off at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art with a student ID. 

The Museum of Contemporary Art is free for everyone, but students can enjoy $8 off all special exhibitions. 

 

Washington, D.C.

Although many of the district’s museums are free, here are discounts for a pair of museums that have additional charges:

Your student ID can get tickets to the Phillips Collection for $10 apiece.

The International Spy Museum also offers $2 off a ticket for students interested in the world of espionage. 

 

Restaurants/Groceries

Many chain restaurants have a revolving door of deals, so check regularly to see what’s available. Some of these include: McDonald’s, Dunkin’, Papa Johns, Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, Domino’s, Arby’s, Subway, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut. Create an account with Student Beans and never miss a deal again.
