Announcing BIOD 101 Essential Biology I w/Lab and BIOD 102 Essential Biology II w/ Lab

In the past few months alone, the strategies for education have changed. As schools move online to better serve their students, Portage Learning is proud to say we have been in the online space for over a decade. In addition to the 20 courses currently offered, Portage is excited to announce the launch of two more courses: Essential Biology I w/Lab and Essential Biology II w/Lab. Appropriately named, each course will cover the topics that are essential for establishing your foundational knowledge in biology.

Beginning with aspects of biologically relevant chemistry the course moves quickly into cellular biology. The goal is to introduce the regulatory, metabolic and molecular mechanisms often associated with structural and functional characteristics of the cell. Essential Biology II w/Lab will then continue the focus of mechanisms that govern cellular processes, while expanding into the fields of genetics, endocrinology, physiology, pharmacology, and conclude with epidemiology.

Whether you are preparing to enter a new field of study, or simply need a refresher, the BIOD101 and 102 courses were designed with the goal of introducing each student to the basic principles of biology such that they can be easily applied to a variety of future disciplines. Similarly, the lab components of each course were designed to demonstrate complex principles through experimental means. Lead by Dr. David Essig and his 30+ years of collegiate teaching experience, students will no doubt benefit from his expertise.

Portage Learning is thrilled to now offer BIOD 101 and 102 as another way to bridge the gap of our students’ educational opportunities. See how at www.portagelearning.com
