Portage Learning Offering Pharmacology
Whether we realize it or not, we all have experience with the science of pharmacology. Perhaps you remember being treated for an ear infection as a child or standing in confusion at your local drug store determining the best product for your symptoms as an adult; maybe you are a practitioner writing a prescription for your patient. Each of these scenarios requires a knowledge of the interaction between medication and our bodies.
NURS251 was developed by a licensed pharmacist with the goal of giving each student a foundation in the basic principles of pharmacology. Students will be exposed to a range of drug classes, from over the counter options to specialty drugs, learning how they are administered, their sites of action within the body, and the effects they elicit. Having the knowledge of how a drug works at the cellular level enables each of us, consumer and practitioner, to make sound decisions for optimal treatment of the pathologies we face and guides us as we strive to regulate and use them responsibly.
Portage Learning is thrilled to now offer NURS251, Pharmacology as another way to bridge the gap of our students’ educational opportunities. Visit portagelearning.com to register today and start tomorrow!
